Contact: me (nancy falkenburg: iPhone 650/336.3645) Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] JOB DESCRIPTION: Scope: The Small Business Group Customer Care Visual Designer serves to conceptualize and to create a positive customer support experience through the presentation of our web based application. The goal is to make customer interactions, appealing, functional, engaging, effective, and visually unified as possible via a visual language (using typography, photography, iconography, and a sense for composition and proportions) and infusing it with our Intuit brand to create a positive emotional connection between the customer and Intuit. Visual designers thrive at working collaboratively and in a fast-paced environment with interaction designers, prototypers, researchers and product managers to "get a concept right early" and be able to collaborate with marketing on branding to provide visual and interaction continuity across shop, buy and use experience. A Visual designer creates multiple visual concepts, tangible manifestations of experiences (such as prototypes), and establishes / maintains visual libraries for the larger teams to use. The visual designer is also responsible for seeing the designs through the implementation and execution phases to ensure the final customer journey solution still meets/exceeds expectations. Once in production, the visual designer is involved in a continuous cycle of learning from customers, providing the learning back into strategy and designs for upcoming releases and new growth ideas. Typical Deliverables: * Producing appealing and engaging visual design within the web support site * Generation of multiple concepts that fulfill project goals and requirements * Developing design prototypes and written user interface specifications * Working cross-functionally with web team, managers, and senior leadership to define application enhancements and scope release cycles * Working with Web Engineering and Development teams and QA to ensure implementation and testing of user interface designs * Developing and managing multiple project plans and deadlines. Coordinating and scheduling Small Business Group Web Support and partner deliverables. Tracking and reporting out on the project status * Contribute to usability studies * Researching and sharing the latest in design and industry trends, ongoing benchmarking Qualifications : Team/Leadership Skills: * Proven experience collaborating and sharing their point of view and expertise with usability, writers, development and leadership team. * Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills are required. * Solid understanding of the business environment and the value of design and the brand within the business context * Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables * Proven ability to meet aggressive deadlines * Ability to understand a client's business and communication's goals and translate them into unique creative solutions Technical/Functional Skills: * Should demonstrate a curiosity about contemporary design culture * Well rounded design skills and styles, and demonstrate a solid foundation of design fundamentals. Must keep abreast of visual design tools and trends and be able to use them as appropriate * Demonstrate excellent typography skill, a good understanding of the systems and an eye for detail * Development, execution, and analysis of rapid prototyping, continual cycle of testing, learning and applying. * Graphic Design Prototyping tools across a variety of media (print, motion, web) including Illustrator, Flash, etc. * Knowledge of HTML , understanding of how comps translate to code * Solid understanding of the practical benefits and limitations of Internet Technologies (Shockwave, Java, etc.) * Qualifications/Required Education and Experience: * BA/MFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or Equivalent * 5+ yrs of visual or user interface design experience with web applications and sites * Must provide a portfolio of work samples CONTACT INFORMATION: Please reply to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
