Design Commission is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the process
of design and development on multiple interactive projects. We are a
small studio with a core focus on the design of Web-based interactive
projects including marketing micro sites, brochure ware Web sites and
Web applications. You will work directly with the studio partners to
define project scope and studio schedules as well as participate in
the entire process of projects from inception to delivery. You will
facilitate client meetings and regular internal check-ins with
designers and developers to manage the day-to-day flow of work for
several projects concurrently.
This position requires:
Skills:
* Excellent communication skills – both external and internal –
required.
* Organization, self-motivation and, above all, attention to
detail.
* The ability to manage process efficiently between internal and
external teams
* Budget management / cost control orientation and results
* Strong creative, technical and business aptitude
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with
overlapping deadlines and shared resources
Responsibilities:
* Help develop clear and realistic estimates including: schedule,
budget, deliverables and reporting processes
* Manage estimates, timelines and project plans (project scope)
to ensure high quality and timely delivery
* Identify and manage potential risks
* Manage the unexpected gracefully and effectively
* Assist in the management of client relationships from beginning
to end
* Organize and set clear expectations for tasks and deliverables
* Excellent analytic, presentation and writing skills required
* Gather and organize assets from client
* Conduct client reviews and gather approvals/feedback
* Conduct thorough quality assurance testing
* Document change-management process
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years experience in the Interactive field as project/
program manager
* Recognizing and leveraging existing solutions and resources
* Sharing best practices with other producers and members of the
production team when applicable
* Keeping a sense of humor and a positive attitude
* Comprehensive understanding of web development, online
production, project management and finance/budgets
* Understanding of Web application space and technologies
including LAMP, RoR, HTML/CSS, Flash, Flex, AJAX, JavaScript, Web
Standards, SEO, and user-centered design
* Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound
