Job Description: We are looking for an outstanding Visual and Human Interface Designer to work on NCBU's enterprise 2.0 application within the Emerging Technologies Group - ETG. The designer will be responsible for researching, designing, and prototyping the new user experiences, creating design mockups, producing visual assets and writing documentation required for proper design implementation. The candidate must be a natural collaborator who prefers to develop designs in a team environment, and must be a passionate user advocate always striving to be in tune with ETG's innovative spirit and the customer's true needs.A passion for elegant design and incorporating new and innovative technologies is a must. Ability to grasp and distill highly complex issues, a deep understanding of the interdependency between visual design and human interface design. A natural diplomat with strong communication, coordination and scheduling skills, will lead to success. Responsibilities & Skills Required: Attention to detail and a good eye for aesthetics Excellent user interface design skills Have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details Design and implementation experience with Java & Ajax Scripting Strong UI design/implementation skills Proven expertise in architecting, designing and implementing end- user applications Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills Deep understanding of performance and responsiveness assessment and optimization The following skills would be beneficial for a candidate to possess: Understand of REST, HTTP, and JSON as well as work with CSS and HTML Expertise in browser compatibility and accessible design Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to use Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to build wireframes and/ or mock-ups MS in Computer Science or equivalent; 10+ years experience. A degree in Human Computer Interaction is a must.
