Like all standards, they tend to be high-level and lag slightly behind current practices. Also they're not cheap - it was over a $100 for the first part (there are four parts), which consisted of basic principles, a glossary of terminology and references to other documents. It can serve as a reference for those new to applying user-centered design processes to products, but you'd do better putting that money towards some of the better popular books on the topic. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
