Hi Billie, I can testify that there ARE Ix Designers in France. Actually,the company I work in (www.intuilab.com) is specialized in Ix Design and regroups skilled people like Iteraction Designers, Visual Designers, Usability Engineers (or Ergonomes), Developpers ... "L'ergonomie" is a part of the required skills to design good products. It brings its own techniques (evaluation, user needs analysis... ) just like the other disciplines involved in the creation process.
