Job Description: The successful candidate will be in charge of designing information architectures and interface designs, developing user-centered strategies, and conducting or directing usability testing in order to test end-user acceptance of product functionality, design and content. The User Experience Designer / Production Designer's work will be applied to the development of a wide range of products including web and handheld-based applications. Responsibilities of User Experience Designer / Product Designer: • Select appropriate user-centered research methods and apply them to product development processes. These techniques include formal usability testing, heuristic evaluation, paper prototyping, focus groups, task analysis, online usability inspection, and surveys • Create wireframes, navigation diagrams, and functional specifications to design and clearly communicate the elements of user experience • Facilitate the work of cross-functional teams throughout product definition, design and development processes • Translate client and user needs into functional requirements • Write clear, concise reports to communicate issues, resolutions, and risks • Assist with defining and implementing interface design guidelines • Investigate, evaluate and recommend emerging usability and information architecture techniques and technologies Requirements of User Experience Designer / Product Designer: • Bachelors Degree • 3 years experience developing interactive products as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, or User Experience Designer • Experience in the design of at least one interactive product from beginning to end, including wireframing and specification writing • Experience developing web-based products • Strong communications and writing skills • Proactive and creative problem solver with an intellectual interest in current and new technologies • Well-organized, with attention to detail and excellent follow-through • Works well within a tightly knit team under tight schedules • Ability to juggle several tasks simultaneously and to work on more than one project at a time effectively • Formal training/education in information architecture highly desirable • Experience in educational software and/or Palm software desirable • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology desirable Wireless Generation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/D/V.
