had to do this two days ago - to a group of people around the age of
my parents.. which made me think a little about it afterward.

I usually follow up "what's an interaction designer?" with
something like:

"I design how digital products and humans interact with each other"

(i only really do digital stuff atm so this works for me)

this time I used the 'digital watch' story that Moggridge uses at
the start of his book - mainly because the person asking me was
wearing a digital watch and started talking about programming
vcr's..
