It also depends on how you present yourself to your various networks.
Personally, I show the same avatar everywhere, but many people choose
to show a different visual representation of themselves to each
network. In the same way that I show my interface designer side to
you all, I would talk completely differently (and thus might have a
different avatar) to the folks I talk to about indoor rock climbing,
for example.
