I can't really sum up my experience in a sentence without saying something you've already read before. But I will say that I still have a ton of "I've Gone Local" buttons attached to my messenger bag, my overcoat, and my favorite blazer.
A youth camp I'm heavily involved with is developing activities to raise awareness of the environment and sustainability. I'm working in an angle to teach participants about changing their environments to change behavior. To 6 through 13 year-olds. I made friends with a salesperson in the salad line today. Straight up stuck out my hand and said "Hey, I'm Nasir.' A knee-jerk habit enforced over a week of meeting awesome people :-). Humbled to be a Board Member for the organization responsible for all this mess. Thinking about the work cut out for us in the next year is equally horrifying and inspiring. Looking forward to keeping in touch with the tribe until we convene again!
