JOB TITLE: Visual Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
HP Labs is looking for a Visual Designer with experience in driving
and delivering the look and feel of a web-based application. You will
work directly with the HP Labs researchers. We are looking for an
experienced visual designer who thinks strategically and can deliver
pixel-level detail. You should understand how to create a sense of
visual consistency which can be applied both to fit with the specific
target platform and lend brand consistency across all products and
platforms.
Responsibilities include:

* Participate and collaborate in concept development and design
iterations
* Deliver visual design solutions for new features and product
requirements that fit with both brand and platform consistency
* Produce design deliverables for products (including application
icons, toolbar icons, and object icons)
* Communicate your design thinking (through documentation and
reviews) clearly
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years working on the visual design of web applications
Formal training in graphic design, digital media design or the
visual arts
Minimum of 5years experience designing, creating, and producing
multimedia experiences for the Web (B2C and B2B experience is
preferred)
Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash, InDesign
Concept, design and create solutions that meet project goals
Your digital media portfolio should include:
Work on an in-depth project that shows originality and
captures the essence of the brands look and feel
Examples of prioritization of user interface real estate
(applications, web pages, widgets) based upon primary and secondary
interaction objectives
Photoshop and Illustrator work that demonstrates mastery of
layering techniques (masks, alpha channels), combining raw digital
assets, background textures, advanced digital effects, typography and
color
