I can't argue for/against that, but there is a solid history of artists who have worked in kinetics as an art form that we can look to for inspiration. Whether it's Arthur Ganson or Survival Research Labs, it's not hard to find people who have made motion visually compelling.

I think that for the virtual world this speaks to what I've been
calling "abstraction", but in Gestural Design should resonate much
more tangibly.
