Depending on how much text is displayed, users may use the browser's search (it's 'Find' in Firefox) to find an exact keyword in a list of results, therefore a the more information per page is better.
Ancestry.com is another site that allows the user to choose how many results to display per page. The default is 50, but can be changed to 10 or 20. I also agree with Evan K. Stone about RSI.
