Google Wave has several really interesting pieces to it. The most interesting thing to me is that they are releasing the source code and enabling apis so that people can build in context applications into the flow of work (a wave).
So you start collaborating on a topic with a colleague(s) and you can add objects into the flow of that conversation that can be modified or worked on synchronously or asynchronously by participants in the wave.
