Key tasks / responsibilities At Fjord we expect our interaction designers to have a broad view of product and service design. We generally work on highly strategic projects that require an understanding of complex service ecosystems. A deep knowledge of delivery platforms, cutting edge technology developments and the marketplace are essential for great service design. Demonstrating an awareness and enthusiasm for this holistic approach to design would be highly beneficial. Interaction Designers at Fjord are responsible for creating service concepts and designing user interfaces and: • User & Design Research. • Trend-spotting. • Usability Reviews & User Testing. • Comparative reviewing and Service benchmarking. • Concept development, Service Mapping, Interaction Design Modelling. • Information Architecture, Interface/interaction Design. • Visual Design. • Interaction development, Flash prototyping. • Design documentation, UI/functional specification writing. Whilst we appreciate that each individual possesses a different distribution of skills, we look for multidisciplinary people who can fulfil a range of project roles. For this particular role we are seeking an Interaction designer with a real capability in visual design and flash programming. Other responsibilities • To comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures. • To adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment & materials provided. • To perform other related duties as and when required. Knowledge, skills and attributes • Candidates for the role must have prior experience designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests, and technological constraints. • Ideal candidates should have 3-5 years experience or a relevant degree. • Experience designing for mobile devices is advantageous. • Enthusiastic, highly creative, with a professional, positive ‘can do’ attitude and an excellent team player. • Willingness to travel overseas, possibly up to a two weeks at a time. ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
