Information Architect/User Experience Designer
Wells Fargo & Company is a diversified financial services company providing
banking, insurance, investments, mortgage and consumer finance through more
than 6,000 stores, the Internet and other distribution channels across North
America and internationally.
Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, the leader in online customer experience in the
industry is looking for an Information Architect/User Experience Designer in
the Edison/North Brunswick, NJ office. Our customers are our focus, and our
Internet sites excel in meeting the diverse needs of those customers. Our
online presence must be user-friendly, engage users, reinforce the value of our
brand, align with user experience standards and support line-of-business
strategies. This position will provide information architecture, user
experience design, prototyping and usability consulting for the products and
services on the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage websites. The successful candidate
should have a solid training and background in user centered design methodology
and techniques, be creative and be able to demonstrate navigation and design
concepts through iterative prototyping. The specific responsibilities for this
role include:
• Understand the business goals, drivers and strategies and interpret online
needs to develop user experience solutions and deliver value for the customer.
• Work effectively with Line of Business partners (Marketing, Product,
Technology teams), Project Manager(s), and Vendor(s), often with project teams
from multiple locations across the country (via phone) to help define and
review user experience requirements and partner deliverables.
• Produce task flows, navigation schemes, and wireframes
• Recommend and/or participate in planning user studies
• Design low fidelity and high fidelity prototypes to demonstrate design
concepts
• Perform usability evaluations and expert reviews, and recommend usability
improvements
• Consult design standards, guidelines and web policies to determine best
practices
• As requested, provide user experience input/support to various business groups
• Maintain an expertise in industry trends as it relates to user experience
design
Minimum Qualifications
• A BA, BS degree in human computer interaction, information science/design,
human factors, psychology or a related field. MS degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in information architecture, interaction design and
usability.
• Proven ability to work effectively on a cross-functional project team
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of User Centered Design (UCD)
principles and methods
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Visio, Dreamweaver
or equivalent
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with the mortgage or financial services industry (preferred)
