hi all,I wanted to post here about why I'm giving to this fundraiser, and why I think it'll help our organization in the medium and long term.
For many reasons, IxDA membership growth has gone ballistic over the last couple of years! Our numbers are steadily growing, and our visions of what these numbers enable are not staying still either. We can do a great deal of good for members and the wider community, but we need to make sure that our activities are sustainable: One aspect of this is allowing the global community to prosper when local communities do. Enabling local energy and enthusiasm to (easily) contribute to the global buzz. Our vision for a new infrastructure is designed around enabling and encouraging this behavior. Another aspect is increasing organizational transparency and lowering barriers to participation. As a (totally) volunteer driven community, this is arguably the most important thing we can do to ensure long-term viability. Our vision for a new infrastructure directly addresses these issues, in ways that we can build on in years to come. Thank you to everyone who's given back to the community, not only with hard-earned money but also with your hard-won expertise and time. This community would not be the rich source of advice, encouragement and debate that it is today without all of you. For the cost of a good book, or the price of a cup of coffee, you can help us build the platform to help ensure a vibrant and connected future for IxDA! http://bit.ly/17AJoE thanks!
