Thanks for the responses I had to this enquiry. Google and Yahoo finance
charts were offered as examples, but aren't quite as dynamic as I was
hoping.

I found that www.advfn.com has a real-time shares monitor that does
somewhat more exciting things with updates. However, you have to
register to use it and in its free-trial form, only let you see
real-time updates for around 10 seconds. Also, it is implemented with
Java rather than Ajax, but I suspect that is for historical reasons.

If you know of or find something similar, please let me know.
