I've also experienced this on numerous occasions, so instead of being entertained by the inflight entertainment, I usually entertain myself by trying to locate the 'easter egg' spot on the screen where pressing and holding should bring you into the "administrative" area where you can access the calibration functions. So far, no luck. But it's like panning for gold, I suppose. I always feel "close" to finding it.
