Don't forget that they are the client and its a requirement of the
job, ensure you design a solution that makes it easy for a user to
change the setting, or offer a different approach such as user
activated.....

......so that someone in an office who is skiving and is going to get
in trouble quick when I click on this website and sound blasts out
over my laptop speakers just as the boss walks past.

With sweat quickly beading on my brow and my face reddens I
immediately go for the close button and vow never to return to that
website, or think ill look tonight, at home, and never do.

in other words, analyse and define where target users are likely to
view the site, and explain the implications to the client in business
terms of audio safety, but dont forget they are the client, and its
thier site, and they will do whateve rthe hell they want with it. :)
