Sascha was totally right. I am too focused on my own learning objectives. Thanks for that clarity, I wasn't seeing it. I was trying to make the tool fit just so I could learn it. It turns out we do have other ways of using AIR than the project at hand. So, the pressure is off on the timeline. I went ahead and got a book, and bought the software and will take it more slowly, and not use it on the portal. Thanks so much IXDA community.
