Senior UI Developer - AddictingGames.com division of MTV Networks Are you a dynamic, creative, User Interface Developer? Can you client side technologies and user facing portions of our AddictingGames and many other sites? Can you be mindful of building widgets and functionality that can be ported to those sites? Do you also possess an understanding of server side technology? Can you produce flawless code and also research, plan, estimate tasks, quality assure and deploy support? Have you worked in tandem with remote development teams to do this work?
What you get to do every day: * You are the lead front-end developer that builds new features, extends and refactors existing code and maintains web applications for the AddictingGames and site * As the liaison with our 3rd party systems you deal with any integration issues that arise * Analyze assigned tasks and provide accurate time estimates for completion managing to business and development schedules * Build and integrate with JS/AJAX frameworks; jQuery, Dojo and other JavaScript frameworks as necessary * Build scalable, efficient event driven UI features for high traffic sites with 1.6 million+ daily unique visitors What you bring to the role in your professional toolkit: * BSCS or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years JavaScript development in a game or entertainment company * Successful track record of large scale front-end web development projects with specific expertise with JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, DOM, DHTML, XHTML, JSON, XML * Able to take mockups and to build production ready JS/CSS driven web pages to specifications incorporating cross browser rendering, performance and display issues * Proven experience building scalable features for high traffic sites * Some exposure to a server side technology preferably PHP 5 and JSP * Experience connecting widgets and Ajax enabled features to enterprise data sources ie: MySQL, Oracle and other enterprise data sources * Test driven development experience in an iterative design team ie: Agile, Pair / XP, SCRUM a plus * Version control using Subversion * Experience with application servers: Resin, JBoss desired * A creative approach to problem solving in a dynamic team-oriented environment with limited supervision * Able to meet deliverables and drive your work to completion within specified timelines * Great communication skills both written and verbal * Able to present ideas and solutions to many audiences including senior management * Can work cross functionally in many areas without being constrained by your job function * Collaborative, upbeat work ethic where you can take ownership and have fun AddictingGames is the leading free online game destination, attracting over 24.6 million Unique users worldwide monthly (ComScore, Oct 2009).
