User Experience (UX) Strategist The User Experience (UX) Strategist will be responsible for collaborating with other UX team members and the Creative and Technology teams to define the overall User Experience for a given project. The UX Strategist will work to understand user goals, business goals, technology parameters and design constraints to create a user experience that will deliver success. Deliverables include Requirements Specifications, Site Maps, Task Flows, Wireframes, UX Strategy Reports, Card Sort Plan/Analysis, Content Strategy, Site Audits, User Testing Scripts/Analysis, Heuristic Analysis, Personas, and Interactive Prototypes. The candidate should have experience in designing the user experience for B2B and/or B2C dot com sites.
Role/responsibility: - Design and evaluate visual human interfaces utilizing user-centered design principles - Work with other UX Strategists to design usable and memorable interactive experiences - Specify, Gather, Analyze, and interpret information that links an organization with its market environment - Conduct both primary and secondary research using qualitative and quantitative methods including surveys, interviews, focus groups, usability testing, card-sorting, and observational studies - Create artifacts, plan logistics, facilitate, conduct analysis, and author reports for large-scale, international usability studies - Analyze target markets and audience, conduct competitive intelligence, analyze current industry trends, and extrapolate data for trend analysis - Communicate experience strategy through visually impressive and detailed site maps, wireframes, task flow diagrams, and other documentation - Design for accessible, search engine optimized (SEO), and mobile experiences - Create and optimize experiences for landing pages and micro-sites to support interactive marketing and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns Software/Technologies: - Morae & UserVue for F2F and Remote Usability Testing - Axure & Visio for Static and Interactive Wireframing and Prototyping - MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project for Analysis, Charting, and Reporting - Adobe Photoshop & Screen Capture software - Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Flash, FLEX, JQuery, AJAX, and XML - Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as MOSS, Expression Engine, Interwoven, Broadvision, Alfresco, and Plone Requirements: BS/BA/MS in Graphic Design, Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, or Human Factors or equivalent work experience; 2-4 years of experience of strong interaction design for the web; solid understanding of User Centered Design principles; ability to provide portfolio examples of relevant visual and interaction design work; ability to collaborate with a talented creative team and Web Development team and handle/incorporate constructive feedback; and must have a working knowledge of UX design and research software. ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
