I find that I don't hit it with apps that are part of the linux distros 
(they have all done a pretty good job of implementing the work-around), 
but I still hit it on binary-only apps that are installed on linux 
systems.

I also am seeing this limit on AIX systems (and there you can apparently 
bump it up to 4G, but not above that without going to 64 bit mode)
