I have and use both kinds -- the plier-like one I bought, and it's
great for removing the nuts (as noted, when you have clearance),
but not as great for putting them in.  But then I heard about the
prybar-like tool, found a picture, and said, ``Damn, I remember
seeing one of those and not having any idea what it was.''
Luckily I was able to find it (hey, you never know when you're
going to need some odd bit of hardware, right), and have been
happy ever since.

I don't think I've cut myself since getting the pliers tool, but
there were some significant blood sacrifices early on.  Also,
*wear eye protection*.  I've had some of these things go whizzing
off into space on more than one occasion.
