For those of you outside the SF Bay Area, apologies for the imposition.

For those of you in the San Francisco Bay Area of California this week...
Here's a friendly reminder of the upcoming BayLISA meeting this
Thursday, November 17, at 7:30pm.

We're meeting at the usual location, LinkedIn's 2051 Stierlin Ct
building in Mountain View. We appreciate the courtesy of our members
and guests who RSVP through Meetup
(http://www.meetup.com/BayLISA/events/35111932/ ) so we can arrange
for refreshments and ensure enough space.

Joining us will be Alec Peterson, CTO of Message Systems, talking
about the Message Systems "Momentum" platform and mass email
processing.

We also want to thank Dice.com for sponsoring the November meeting.

Before the presentation begins, we'll have the annual BayLISA board
elections. All current members (including anyone joining before the
meeting on Thursday) are eligible to vote for members of the board.

Members serve 2-year terms, and with a number of board members
stepping down after the current term expires, we welcome
interested attendees who want to help grow the organization over the
next two years.

I've written a bit at
http://rsts11.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/baylisa-approaching-21-year/
about the organization and getting involved with the board, but in
short, here's what's involved:

* 1-2 hours a week including outreach, meetings, coordinating
speakers/sponsors, etc.

* Be a visible and welcoming representative of BayLISA. Help us spread
the word, make new contacts, and respond to members.

* Help run a meeting twice a year.

* Get BayLISA membership for free while you're on the board.

You do *not* have to be a paying member of BayLISA to be on the board.
We just ask that you've attended meetings before (preferably) and have
the commitment and capacity to help make BayLISA grow and improve.

If you're interested in becoming a part of the BayLISA board, get in
touch with me so we can get you on the ballot.

Hope to see you all there.

Thanks,
Robert Novak
BayLISA Secretary/Cheerleader
