Mr. Gregoire,

I am sorry for the
limited help you have received to-date.  I was hoping that
inter-group messaging could be an answer for you to obtain some
actual Hands-On experienced technical assistance by now.

So let me see if I can
kick-off the replies by asking some basic informative questions
:

Can you describe your setup, in general terms, in-order to
help in the members understand of your current environment.  This way
the advise you seek can be a bit more precise. Also, what do you wish to
accomplish with this NAS or SAN.  I know
that it is a mass storage system for a network, but how do you intend
to use it in your environment ?  Would there be any virtual
technology concerns involved because this would have a big impact on
how they would be used and implemented ?
There you go LOPSA
Discussion List.  Can you take it from here and help this HTCIA
member with his storage interest after this initial information is
received.  Can we help this person in need ?

Inter-group
cooperation can be a big benefit for both groups.  HTCIA, if you
do not know is made up of professionals in both Law Enforcement and
Commercial and Private Industry that perform digital forensics for
evidence.

Considering that Admin's are responsible for
IT Security.   I am hoping that you notice that the tools that you use to help
detect a breach during an Incident Response (IR) are becoming more of an
interest to the Digital/Network Forensics field, too.  On the other hand
Network/Digital Forensic tools are being used more and more to help Security to
prove the who and how of an incident of a breach.

The in-depth knowledge of each others tools lies with each others profession.
By working together and helping each other, this could only enhance each others
job performance and maybe also save on some of the rising costs related to
training in both fields.

My whole intent of this
message is to provide quality advice that comes from real and
actually experienced individuals across professional
boundaries.  OBTW, if I have done a wrong in the way that I have sought this
working together, please excuse me.  Just let me know what is expected to
continue this communication between professions.  Thank You.

Sincerely,
Harvey Rothenberg

Subject: Have you Received Help from LOPSA members ??  Dear Mr. Andre Gregoire,

I am writing you because I saw your request for assistance on the HTCIA
listserv.  I thought that there would be more persons who are more experienced
with SANs and NASs in another group that I am also a member with - The League
of Systems Administrators (LOPSA).

So I had posted your request upon this Listserv, but I would not see any posts
because they would email you directly.  This is why I am emailing you now.  I
am just trying to see if any of those members have contacted you and also
helped you in your needs ?

Well that is the reason for this message.

Regards,
