Hi all,

For those of you outside the Silicon Valley/SF Bay Area, apologies for
the imposition.

For those of you in the San Francisco Bay Area of California this
week... Here's a friendly reminder of the upcoming BayLISA meeting
this Thursday, January 19, at 7:30pm. Our meetings are free and open
to the public.

BayLISA is pleased to welcome Mark Burgess of CFEngine to speak on
"SysAdmin 3.0: The Infrastructure Engineer." Many of you may have seen
Dr Burgess speak at LISA last month, and many of you have used his
software. This is a great opportunity to meet him in a smaller
environment and see what he's seeing in our industry and ask your
questions.

We also thank CFEngine.com for sponsoring this month's meeting and our
refreshments for the meeting.

We currently are scheduled for the usual location, LinkedIn's 2051
Stierlin Ct building in Mountain View. At the moment we have a waiting
list for attendance, but we are working on either a larger room or
reconfiguring our usual room. Please RSVP through Meetup (
http://bit.ly/tP8BEw ) if you wish to attend, and we'll do everything
we can to accommodate the crowds. Meetup will notify you as we open
the waitlist up.

Upcoming meeting topics include OpenLDAP, SSL, web performance
optimization, and... what else? We're open to suggestions.

HEY: Did you see someone at LISA, or run into someone at work, who you
think would make an intriguing and beneficial presenter at a future
BayLISA meeting? If so, please let me know. We have some people lined
up and some on our wish list, but we want to make this the most useful
group for all Bay Area sysadmins (and those of you from outside the
Bay Area who might find yourselves out here on a third Thursday!).

Thanks, and hope to see a few of you this Thursday...

Robert Novak
BayLISA President
