A good Jr is resourceful and creative, and can figure out how to handle any problem you put in front of them. Reactive. A good Sr is proactive and preventive. Organized, knows what's going to expire and when. Knows what the *life plans* are of the people in the group, so they can plan even human staffing accordingly. Not to mention, knowing the deliverables and objectives of the groups being supported. That being said - Often times, a Sr gets too stuck in a rut. Tries to solve a new problem with old tools. Often a good Jr will add a fresh perspective, know a new tool or a new development in an old tool. The good Jr read the manual more recently... The best mix overall is some Jr, some Sr, working together. And positively devoid of complete dominance. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
