Hi all, I just wrote down a document about different ways to move / copy / reinstall VM hosts in a colo datacenter; I guess it could be even more generic, but I'll stick with my example of "create a backup of a running VM Host" - VM host is an interesting example because it implies the data ain't yours and should stay completely unchanged.
