A while back I used to use Trixbox to run my Asterisk box, which was
based on CentOS. However, it looks like Trixbox CE is no longer
supported. I've been looking to migrate over to something current,
preferrably Ubuntu based. I've got a Ubuntu box that I'm using for
BackupPC and such, and consolidating Asterisk onto it would be nice;
one less machine that I'd have to have running.
Any suggestions for migration paths and/or alternatives? I haven't
kept up with the Asterisk ecosystem for a while.

This won't help you run it on a box shared with existing stuff, but
I've been using the Astlinux distro for a while with good results. It's
designed for boxes running from flash storage...building an Asterisk
appliance. I run it at home on an old HP thin client. Silent, low power,
etc.
