It might depend on your workload. Min's presentation at FAST
2012 suggested SSDs have performance and reliability issues with
random write workloads. I'd guess there are pathological
workloads that chronically cycle between disk and SSD.  Auto
placement has to set the hysteresis just right to avoid such.
Nothing trrumps testing actual equipment with actual workloads.
