I would start with something simpler - like the LOPSA list and just some sense of the health of the list - exposing the topics could be done latter. By general health I mean a comparison of growth vs losses. As with any list of contacts, some are good, some never were good and over time people move, drop out etc so the dynamic is fairly universal. A basic tracking display would be useful at LOPSA, you already have a source of data and it could be shared since running a list is a fairly universal service. Picture one image, horizontal center line at mid-height is time. Above the line are the total (new plus t-1) number of recipients of the list. Of that how many have posted in the past year? of that how many have posted more than once in the past year? this information should be in the lists archives - so it's easy. Below the line are the number of those dropped from the list - historical data here may not exist, but as addresses are dropped from the list it should be easy enough to categorize them as either requested exits, blocked, or culled (email bounce) - and other(?) One image, showing the health of the list, turnover/growth etc from data you already likely have, or can get from regular operations. now go make the top line go up and the bottom line level out ;) Getting data on Conferences and Meeting might be easier and more useful to LOPSA members than capturing Mentoring stats out of thin air. Pulling topic info out the list into a display of keywords might be a start for categorizing Mentored topics - I don't know. My approach is to think about the deliverable in the context of the resources available and assume any friction for the user will kill the effort. > > Bonus points if you can directly link that new thing to making your company > better. > > (Yes, I know, we work in a pretty thankless area, but... if you are going to > create goals...) > > > Craig > _______________________________________________ > Discuss mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss > This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators > http://lopsa.org/ _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
