I'd be very interested in hearing these experiences as well, particularly around BigFix. My current client is looking at purchasing BigFix for AIX and Linux patch management. I've recently convinced them of the wonders of Satellite 6, mostly for the integrated Puppet, so I'm interested in the same ideas as Tom.

If anyone has any specific commentary on Centrify vs Dell's IAM vs AIX&Linux native AD integration, I'd be interested in that as well.

Thanks,

Specifically, I'm looking at "patch management" systems that will
properly support Linux (and perhaps Mac), that we can deploy alongside
existing Puppet configuration management.

I'm looking for things that will not just patch Linux main packages,
but also add ons such as PHP, Apache, Tomcat, and such. More than
just installing the latest mainline RPMs, in other words. The same for
major Mac and Linux applications, not mainline RPMs.

Feel free to respond directly in confidence, if you can't discuss some
details publicly.
