We've been on O365 for a few years now. I really can't speak to the transition 
from the admin side (I don't handle messaging or desktop apps), but it's been 
fine for the most part from my perspective as a user.  There are occasional 
outages or slowness, but it's rare. 

Everyone still uses Office on their desktops, but the web versions are usable. 
One nice thing (at least on our plan) is that each user gets 5 installs of the 
desktop suite, so I can install it at home as well as at work.
