Hello OpenDaylight Developers:

We have historically had a hackfest... aka an opportunity for everyone to
get into a room together, sometime just before code freeze so that all
cross-project dependencies could be reviewed and subsequent testing could
be worked on.

Over the past few releases though, the attendance to the hackfests have
been going down. Projects at this point seem to know how to work together
remotely so the need for a face to face gathering is not as strong.

The Integration team though, has always has a good turnout at the hackfest
events and they have indicated that they would like to continue to gather
for a face to face meeting around this time of the release cycle. Given
the number of attendees is smaller, we discussed last time having one of
the ODL member companies host a face to face hackfest shortly before M5.
The ODL non-profit will still pick up the food and drink for the event, but
an organization from the community will donate a venue. In the past, these
events have been 2 days long. I will leave it to those interested in
attending and/or hosting to lead the discussion on how long the event
should be (either one or two days would make sense to me).

So, if you are interested in getting together for such an event... or more
importantly if you believe you can host it, please chime in on this
thread. Our target timeframe would be around the first week of March, and
I would expect holding it in the Bay area would be preferable to the
majority likely to attend.

Thanks,

Phil.
