Hello OpenDaylight Developers:

I took the action item at a recent TSC meeting to work on finding a venue,
and date for the Nitrogen Developer Design Forum (DDF). This is the event
we hold at the beginning of each development cycle so that everyone in the
community can come together and present new ideas as well as
collaboratively plan for what will be in the next (Nitrogen) release.

We typically try to hold these events about 3 weeks after the previous
release. This gives us a small buffer in the event that there are
unforeseen delays in getting the previous release out the door and also
provides project teams time to formulate initial thoughts on what to do for
the next release cycle.

The formal release date for Carbon is May 11th.

The suggested date/location for the Nitrogen DDF is:

When: Wednesday, May 31st, and Thursday June 1st, 2017
Where: Santa Clara Marriott

This venue is conveniently located to many of the community that live and
work in the Bay area, and the timing is just about perfect. We have the
flexibility to run as many as six parallel sessions or as few as three.
>From past (recent) DDFs we will probably run 4 or 5 parallel tracks with
one or two of the bigger rooms left for ad-hoc un-conference sessions.

Note that Memorial Day is on the Monday of that week (5/29). Hence we
allow Tuesday as a travel day for those needing it without messing up the
long weekend.

Best,

Phil.
