Hi,
I would like to post a question related to the SDN product Open Daylight Direction. I recently came to the Open Day Light project for SDN’s. It is a very promising project. I am working on a master in software engineering. As part of my graduate program, I need to do a research project (in the Spring of next year). I would like to do a research topic on an open standard software system for operation and maintenance in a telecom network. I wanted to focus on the RAN side. I wanted to develop a standard (software architecture) with respect to the communication of network elements ( from the operation and maintenance plane) with a tool that sits on a server. I would like to use an open source RAN product. As you know there are many elements to consider ( 3GPP parameters, IP parameters, KPI counters, User traces…). So my research would basically take into account creating a configuration file (for example for parameters) using a database or combination of databases. There are a number of databases out there at the moment related to relational, centralized, non-relational, blockchain… This configuration file would be structured in a way that would allow additional parameters and settings to be added easily taking into account the different 3GPP parameters and layers. Basically allowing easy translation from 3GPP standard into parameter configuration in the actual network element software. More so it would take into account node to node interactions as well. I am wondering if there is some type of product being worked on related to this (RAN SDN product) as part of the Open Day Light project. If there is not, I am wondering if this is being considered in future releases. I am part of the SDN group in IEEE. And I would like to submit this research there as well. If you could please point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- *Best regards,* *Nader El Chebib* *Verizon Wireless **System Performance* Contact number 626-673-2478 Email [email protected]
