Daniel has steered you right (as always). Nikkos wrote Latte to measure both the latency and loss of PacketIN – FlowMod pairs during benchmarking. Latte runs on the controller, so it sees all traffic to the controller port and makes measurements there. As a result, Latte sees the response latency within the controller in this configuration. You won’t see the latency of the link between the controller and the OVS switches.
