Hello Jimmy,
Nice to meet you.
LISAsoft, based just below you in Australia, provide support,
development and training in Geospatial Open Source and Geospatial Open
Standards - and we have some staff very keen to come and visit Papua New
Guinea. :)
Depending on the timing of your project, you might be interested to send
some of your staff to the international FOSS4G conference, being held
here in Sydney, Australia in October 2009. http://2009.foss4g.org
This conference will contain presentations, tutorials and workshops from
the best Open Source developers around the world, and we are introducing
a "Climate Change Integration Plugfest" which will demonstrate how Open
Source and Proprietary applications integrate with each other using Open
Standards.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a GIS officer working with the Papua New Guinea National
Agricultural Research Institute (NARI). We are currently developing a
project proposal for the Asia Caribbean Pacific Scientific and
Technology programme under the EU project. The key objective is to
strengthen capacity in the organization some specialized and general
research areas. Under this project we will be seeking potential GIS
Trainers to improve our GIS capacity in NARI and two other Ministries
in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. The training will include a beginners
and advanced GIS approach using Open Source.
Please advice.
Regards
