All, I too am most interested in the project's details, as well as in the one that Louis has mentioned he's starting.
Behind my interested is the F/OSS (mostly) Caomoter-Aided Dispatch application - Tickets CAD - that I'm planning to ,ove off its current GMaps base to OL/OSM.
