It is my pleasure to nominate Andreea Marin for OSGeo Charter
Membership. Andreea has just earned her Master's degree in GIS at the
University of Bucharest (Romania); now planning to pursue a PhD in
geography. I first meet Andreea during the FOSS4G-CEE 2013 conference
in Bucharest, where I learned about her dedicated work within the
Romanian OSGeo Local Chapter. She has been actively involved in the
Romanian Local Chapter's workshops and seminars for several years,
most visible with contributions as a GRASS GIS trainer, strong
supporter, software translator and promoter.
Given her passion for the academic environment, Andreea has strongly
pushed forward the first Romanian ICA-OSGeo Lab
(http://www.geoforall.org/locations/).
Although Andreea is not a "hardcore" FOSS developer, her devotion to
the OSGeo principles and her continuous work in promoting and
supporting FOSS4G in the Romanian geospatial community should be
recognized and appreciated.
