Dear OSGeo members, this mail is to collect some information that are useful for improving istSOS (www.istsos.org).
In fact, at SUPSI (www.supsi.ch) we are running some tests to demonstrate the istSOS reliability and stability. It would be nice to test the software with 'near real case' sensor network configuration, so I would like to ask if you (or some of your contacts) have information on real monitoring networks: The following info are of our interest: 1) type of network (hydrological monitoring network, ...) 2) number of sensors 3) average data transmission rate (insert of new data) 4) data acquisition frequency (hourly, 10 minutes, 5 secs, etc..) 5) length of historical series (e.g.: store data of last 30 years) 6) estimated number of users 7) estimated frequency of data access (every hour, every 10 minutes, etc..) 8) estimated average length of data retrieval per access (interval of requested observations: 1 week, 1 day, etc.) Thanks for a feedback.
