actively/enthousiastically contributes to FOSS4G, OSGeo and OSM within
The Netherlands, driving our local community/Chapter:
- teaching (see Barend)
- organizing events like Missing Maps
- well-versed speaker, moderator, at our local OSGeo events
- jack-of-all-trades at local OSGeo events

I'd like to nominate Erik Meerburg as an OSGeo charter member.
Knowing Erik for more than 10 years, he is still able to surprise me with
his enthusiasm and ideas about cartography, crowdsourced & open data and
open source software for geospatial.
Over the last few years Erik has been heavily involved in co-organizing
FOSS4G-related events, and thus in spreading knowledge on how to use open
source software and data.
