I second the nomination for Jakob Miksch.

Among other things, Jakob has helped the OSGeo-Live team with initial research into Transifex translations of OSGeo-Live documentation.

I agree that it would be good to have him included as an OSGeo Charter member.

Warm regards, Cameron

Hello,

I would like to nominate Jakob Miksch [1].

I asked him and he agrreed with the nomination.

Jakobs background is in Geography and Geoinformatics. He is interested in geospatial application development using open source tools. He mostly works with QGIS and PostGIS and likes programming. Jakob is involved in FOSSGIS, OSGeo events & OpenStreetMap meet-ups since a few years. He was visitor, volunteer & speaker at some conferences.
He is involved in the OSM project and OSGeo-Live.

Recently he gave a talk at FOSS4G Norway about the SDI he is involed in - so maybe some of you know him from the talk.

He is curious and open minded and can be a bridge to students and the OSM community.

Would be great to have him in the team as OSGeo Charter Member.

Astrid
