Dear colleagues

International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August, bringing youth
issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the
potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.

The theme of this year’s International Youth Day, Intergenerational solidarity:
Creating a World for All Ages<https://www.un.org/en/observances/youth-day>,
aims to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to
achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leave no one behind.
According to the UN, to achieve the SDGs “the world needs to leverage the full
potential of all generations. Solidarity across generations is key for
sustainable development.”

In this context and at a time when scientific advancements happen in a dynamic
and fast-changing world, and science is needed more than ever to find solutions
to multiple global challenges, we are pleased to remind eligible young
Academies and Scientific Associations of our following invitation to join the
International Science Council for free as Affiliated Members.

I encourage all to share this news with their young organizations. More details
and the online application form is at
https://council.science/current/blog/internationalyouthday-invitation-to-young-academies/

Solidarity across generations is key for sustainable development.

Best wishes
