My understanding is that you need to have a different server acting as
your transcoding server, per this section of
http://en.flossmanuals.net/Plumi/Installation
{{{
Two Domains Required
Plumi 3 requires two domains to operate although they can point to the same
server:
* The Plumi Site (eg: example.org)
* Plumi Transcode Daemon and transcoded files (videos.example.org)
Please ensure that these domains are set up in advance of your site
installation and have had sufficient time to propagate through the Internet
(eg: 24-48 hours).
NOTE: If you server is not going to be accessed from the Internet, you
still need to set up the domains within your private network (eg:
internal DNS server, /etc/hosts files on all workstations, etc).
}}}
My site.cfg looks like this:
[site]
# start with offbeat password, and hint that it should be made unique in-site:
user = admin:admin
effective-user = ussf2010-video
http-address = 127.0.0.1:8080
ftp-address = 127.0.0.1:8021
transcode_host = 127.0.0.1
transcode_port = 8888
videofolder = transcoded
#squid configs
squid_address = 127.0.0.1:4128
squid_backend = ${site:http-address}
squid_hostname = video.debord.mayfirst.org
squid_email = [email protected]
#apache configs
apache_backends = video.debord.mayfirst.org:${site:squid_address}
transcode_backends =
transcode.debord.mayfirst.org:${site:transcode_host}:${site:transcode_port}
apache_zope2_vhm_map = video.debord.mayfirst.org:/Videoussf
