#695: No Upload Animation

The animation that popped up when uploading a video has disappeared. The
web page gives no indication that something is happening (other than the
initial message, which I don't think people read carefully), only the
browser sits there waiting to resolve.
Users have complained to me it's broken and decided not to use EM, so I
think its pretty urgent to get back in there, until such time as we have a
real progress bar.
Tested on Safari and Firefox/OSX.
