This is the default plone's way which actually makes sense. Since Genres
is an optional field, removing the "no value" option would result in a
user always having to select one of the other options. The only workaround
that I can think about, is adding an "Uncategorized" option, make it the
default and then remove the "no value". This would result in an extra
"Uncategorized" Genre that would show up on the listings as well.
