Hi Simone, 

in Plumi 4.5 we also use the http upload module of
nginx which is needed for reliable large file uploads over http.


Besides that, you should be able to replace nginx without issues.
Untill recently we've been using Apache instead of nginx on production
for engagemedia.org.
