all good arguments, dennis!
and ones which have been raised before :) some work has been done to
architect along the principles you outline, though we were also pulled
in the other direction to make an easy-install package.
i will leave it to developers (i am a long-time project manager and
tester, not a programmer) to weigh in with particulars as they see fit.
your work decoupling things will be very appreciated though, i'm sure :)
thanks,

Thanks, I'll check it out.
On another note. I have a few questions there a way to decouple the
script? To make it easier to manage?
What I mean by that is; is there way where PLUMI doesn't try to
install the pre-requisites? For example FFMPEG, etc..
I'm asking because tight integration - although good for some reasons
- is not always good for all. From a development perspecitive, I do
understand the necessity to keep things tight so that you can keep
track of what works within your application. However this doesn't
necessarily translate to something running in production.
I'm not familiar enough with Plone to make any reasonable arguments,
however I can see from an administrative side, a few things aren't
necessary (in terms of being baked in) and would actually help towards
improving the quality of Plumi itself.
For example the transcoding layer. You can completely decouple the
installation of the transcoding applications. The same goes for nginx
- Why is it baked into the install? The video player, etc.. Or perhaps
even plone itself?
I'm currently working on decoupling what you have, so that it's easier
to install ('A la carte` ). As always I'll keep you guys abreast of my
progress.

Hi Dennis, the video player is tightly integrated with plumi, so not
sure if you can easily change it to another (which one by the way?)
Check on plumi.content
(src/plumi.content/plumi/content/browser/templates/plumi_video_view.pt
<http://plumi_video_view.pt>) how mediaelement.js is called.
Cheers

I'm new to Plone entirely, and I'm not familiar with the navigation.
With that being said, could someone explain to me how or where I
would go to change the video player?
